Children’s Yoga Nidra
(4 minutes 25 seconds)

Yoga Nidra is a wonderful practice for children promoting self-awareness and interoceptive awareness, through being aware of internal senses.

Children can practice seated or lying down. They can choose to have their eyes open or closed, whichever they feel most comfortable with.

Before starting the practice, create a calm space away from any distractions. The child/children can be covered with a blanket during the practice. They may also like the lights to be dimmed.

Children can practice Yoga Nidra during the day or at bedtime to help bring a sense of calm and relaxation.

Suitable for 4-6 year olds, or older children for a short practice.

After the meditation you may like to ask the child about what they experienced or they can draw or write about their experience.
