Becoming a Podcast Host
Last week, I took another leap outside of my comfort zone when I released my new Butterfly Minds Podcast.
I had contemplated starting a podcast a while ago, however I didn't revisit the idea until recently.
I’ve been enjoying my blogging journey and feel like podcasting is a connected path for me to take to share my words with the world.
As a child I never wanted to raise my hand and speak in front of the class, so to be posting talking videos on social media, recently launching my own podcast, and delivering training as a speaker is a huge full circle moment for me.
This was similar to how I felt before my first experience being a guest on a podcast, Umbrella Therapy. However, during the recording and after I felt completely relaxed and there wasn't any pressure about what I should and shouldn't say.
It was wonderful to have space to discuss different topics as often I have lots of things to talk about but they either stayed in my head, before I started regularly blogging, and becoming a speaker.
Creating a podcast for neurodivergent parenting came from wanting to try a new way of reaching families who aren't on social media or who want to receive resources and support outside of scrolling on social media.
Recently I've been reflecting on ways that I can continue sharing my work and marketing my business without putting so much time, energy, and overthinking about what content to post.
Learning new things has always been something that I enjoy doing. My podcast isn't edited and doesn't have an exciting intro or outro. However, I hope that what I share brings value and supports parents and carers in neurodiverse families.
I have posted a trailer and two episodes so far (one was published this morning). If you want to hear more about my why behind Butterfly Minds while discovering practical tools to manage stress and find pockets of calm without needing extra time in your schedule, this podcast is for you.
Each episode is short but sweet, filled with personal stories, insights, mindfulness techniques and more ways to support your wellbeing while being a part of a neurodiverse family.
Tune into Butterfly Minds Podcast by tapping here.
And if you know someone who might be interested in listening, please share the podcast with them to help spread the word.
